Funeral & Memorial Celebrant

A thoughtful, personal ceremony that honours a life well - and supports those left behind.

Saying goodbye is never easy. Whether you want a traditional funeral service, a celebration of life, or a simple memorial gathering, my aim is to help you create a ceremony that is dignified, personal, and truly reflective of the person you’ve lost.

I’m an experienced minister and celebrant with many years of pastoral experience supporting families through bereavement. I can lead ceremonies that are faith-based (Christian), lightly spiritual, or non-religious, depending on what you want and what best serves your family.

Based in Chingford, I serve families across London, Essex, Kent and Hertfordshire.

Ceremonies I lead

Funeral services

A service at a crematorium, cemetery chapel, graveside, church, or another suitable venue. The focus is to honour the person’s life, give space for grief, and offer comfort and hope in a way that matches your family’s beliefs.

Memorial services

A memorial can take place days or weeks after the funeral or on an anniversary. It can be more flexible in location and structure, and is often ideal if:

  • family are travelling from overseas

  • you want more time to plan a fuller tribute

  • you want a gathering that feels less formal than a traditional funeral

Celebration of life

A warmer, more reflective style of ceremony — often with music, photos, stories, and contributions from friends/family. This can be held in a venue that mattered to the person (or one that’s simply convenient for guests).

Graveside / ashes interment

A shorter committal service at the graveside, or a meaningful moment for placing ashes in a chosen location (where permitted), with words of tribute and a simple blessing if desired.

What I can help with

  • Meeting with you (in person or online) to listen and gather the story

  • Writing a bespoke ceremony script that reflects the person’s life, values and relationships

  • Creating a clear structure that feels supportive for guests

  • Helping family members who want to read a tribute (or speaking on their behalf if they’d rather not)

  • Guidance on appropriate readings, poems, prayers, or reflections (including a free download here)

  • Liaising with funeral directors and/or venue staff to ensure the service runs smoothly

  • Livestreaming (where appropriate and with permission) so distant family can take part
