Pastoral Supervision
A space for reflection, growth, strength and sustainability in ministry
Pastoral ministry is both deeply rewarding and incredibly demanding. Those who serve in ministry or caring professions often give selflessly—providing practical and emotional support, sometimes in traumatic circumstances, and often at the expense of their own wellbeing.
Without a dedicated space to reflect, process, and be encouraged, ministry can become lonely and exhausting.
As a Pastoral Supervisor, I offer a safe, confidential and structured space for reflective practice. Supervision gives you the opportunity to:
Explore challenges and successes
Consider the emotional, practical and theological dimensions of your work
Develop resilience and sustainability in your ministry
My hope is that supervision becomes a space where your voice is heard, your experiences are validated, and your ministry is strengthened.
Pastoral supervision is a structured, reflective practice designed to support those in pastoral or caring professions. It provides a confidential space to explore your professional experiences, reflect on the emotional and spiritual dimensions of your ministry, and receive encouragement for ongoing personal and professional development. It is distinct from counselling, spiritual direction, pastoral care, coaching or mentoring, though it may include elements of each. Ultimately, pastoral supervision will equip you to think critically about your practice, gain clarity, and approach your ministry with a sustainable mindset. It does not provide immediate solutions to problems but offers tools to help you navigate the complexities of your role.
Ministry is life-giving, but without support it can also be draining. Supervision provides:
Resilience & Wellbeing - Emotional & spiritual support to sustain you in your role.
Burnout prevention - Regular reflection reduces the risk of fatigue & disillusionment.
Accountability & insight - Encourages ethical decision making and improved professional practice.
Confidential support for complex situations.
